This is a video that really resonates with me and I come back to a lot. If you focus at the 2:20 mark, he talks about how the hands dropping are only 6 inches of the transition. ▶ this video

When I come over the top it usually always caused by me whipping the club inside and around my back looking for extra speed. Check your backswing and make sure you’re in the right place at the top of your backswing. From there keep your back to the target and swing. Your hips should naturally shift. Your hand path in downswing gets closer to ball. Look at hand path in take away (it’s good) vs entering into impact. You have same challenge I do, your upper body, chest and shoulders, are out racing your hands so no choice but for arms/hands to move out off of plane. Hands gotta be quicker from the top in transition and come down first. There’s a concept of back to target for longer or chest facing back for longer …

You're swinging over the top, creating an out to in swing path, which naturally creates sidespin for a slice. There are countless videos online about fixing OTT. I just recently watched this and I think it has good points on what to focus on and what to avoid: ▶ this video

Probably a hip separation problem. People usually have a problem with being able to move their hips without moving their upper body too. Good video to watch. Just feel like your opening up your hips while keeping your back to the target ▶ this video

Literally just pasted this for another guy so I’ll share here too 🤣 You move great through the ball. You’ll find a fix or swing thought that will help you. Your hands do get too flat on your backswing as noted in the advice above. Hands should work more away from you on the backswing, not so around. But your real challenge is that you fire your torso so early and leaving the club behind. Watch this video and work on …

Best comment. You whip the club to the inside and roll the club face open at the same time. on the downswing you early extend and throw the club at the ball hosel first. for backswing: ▶ this video for downsing sequencing: ▶ this video another downswing with more detail: ▶ this video

All you need to do is work on your sequencing. You are rotating your shoulders to start the downswing and you are pulling the club out (over the top) and through the impact zone. This will always create a huge slice. You need to learn how to rotate your hips and upper body independently. The correct sequence from the top is the bump to get the weight on the left leg and the low point past the ball. Second is the …
