Watch this ▶ this video And this ▶ this video Tempo is insanely important. I used to be fast back, fast in transition, and just trying to smash it. When I learned proper tempo, specifically to let the club float a bit in transition, I added distance to all my clubs.

Of course, man! This video explains by what point in the downswing you need to have decelerated the body so the arms/hands reach their max speed. Once arms/hands reach max speed, you decelerate them and transfer speed to the clubhead, and release it into impact. Golf is hard. Best of luck! ▶ this video One of my favorite drills for sequencing ▶ this video

You don’t really have a choice but to early extend. Too much club energy at the top to handle, which is why you’re too deep. You can’t effectively land and pivot off your front leg because you’re holding too much speed at the top (your hands will be resisting like 80-100 pounds of force here). You want more speed early in backswing (driven by chest) and let club momentum almost die at the top, will feel for you like …

Slow down a bit on the back swing Wrong answer. Slowing down is the some of the worst "advice" you can give, and the OP would do well to sweep that illegitimate content routinely spammed by higher handicappers under the rug. Nobody has ever improved by slowing the backswing, long term. It doesn’t work, but it does wonders in nerfing ▶ this video, power, and, well- swing speed. Slowing the transition without slowing …
