Need to work on proper pressure/weight shift in the swing. It’ll give you a little more freedom to rotate properly. Also, you want to keep your lead arm elbow more pointed at the ground through out the swing as well. Not pressing your lead arm against your body in the backswing will help too. Here’s a couple videos that come to mind that could help: ▶ this video ▶ this video ▶ this video ▶ this video

Take a look at your trail shoulder between 0:11 and 0:13. See how the movement goes forward down/over the ball? I think that's where you're starting the OTT movement. Check ▶ this video of Tiger, and watch his trail shoulder. Check your position at 0:14 as well. See how far your hands are out away from your body? So even though you fight to get your right elbow tucked into your side, you're already in a bad position …

Problem starts with takeaway with forearm rotation that opens up the clubface. U have to feel like u are taking the club back with your right forearm above left forearm. ▶ this video Look at the forearm of these players during takeaway vs. Yours. U see with these players, their right forearm is above left forearm until very late. ▶ this video ▶ this video ▶ this video

▶ this video Tiger Woods in slo mo with an iron. Specifically watch his lead wrist the entire way. Try to see when and where it bows, slightly. This happens halfway into the downswing, about where the clubshaft reaches parallel with the ground. This is where lag angle should be maximum, on an iron. This is where the release starts. Now look at your swing and try to find the point where you slightly bow the lead …

I was taught the Ben Hogan grip, so I favor the thumb being over the grip and pinched with the V between the thumb and index pointing to my right shoulder. This allows the head to roll easier...however there has been discussion lately about how that has led to a lot of players having right to left issues. Regardless, this may help visualize. Now, it's completely acceptable to be SLIGHTLY hooded, just ever so …

Let me preface this with my credentials. I am not the holder of a good golf swing, I did not grow up playing golf so my swing does not come naturally. I was an athlete and a coach of certain mechanics (throwing a football). If your problem is inconsistent striking, which from your description seems like the issue. May I direct your attention towards your left foot in these clips. You want to transfer your weight …

Your setup needs work. Your posture isn't quite right. You should jump off two feet and land on two feet—that's your body's natural athletic posture. Weight should be stacked over your feet (not behind them with hips flexed). The butt of the club should point at your belly button at address. All of these things inform your hand and clubhead paths. You're establishing an extremely flat plane at setup which cannot be …
