It’s not out of nowhere, this is the standard over the top swing with an open club face at impact. For swing path, this video helped me a lot: ▶ this video (A pull is an over to top swing with a square or slightly closed club face relative to path)

Yes, both of those are good. Here's the one that was a light bulb moment for me: Hot Pull: ▶ this video In my case, my club face was open relative to the path (outside in), closed relative to the target, I was hitting a pull fade. It was mostly of playable. But two or three times a round, I'd square one up and it went hot left. It's a nasty miss when I was lined up for a cut. If you are slicing, you'll have to deal …

â–¶ this video is a good video that talks about hand path, specifically about 4 mins in. You don't want your hands to travel directly towards the ball in the downswing, but should be closer to the body like you mentioned.

These are both gold. I’d spend some time with the first one getting used to that feel and the second one is a great drill on the range or home that lets you work on the move with shifting your focus a little more external with instant feed back ▶ this video ▶ this video

Takeaway looks pretty good… Not a bad top of the backswing position, needs to rotate the shoulders more… Oh wow that is some over the top move, going to slice pretty hard… Holy Shank. [imgur.com] Honestly just fix that over the top move and he’ll have more fun playing. He needs to rotate more and make the first move his hands make down instead of toward the ball. He should think about …

You're pulling the club across your chest from the top of the swing, like youre swinging a sword in a diagonal motion. You should be pushing the club down and away from you. At 7:40 of this video, they explain the arm motion that you want: â–¶ this video

You’ve got a great swing. What this means is that your body is pulling your lead arm towards the ball with a closed face. You need to squat (which promotes the lowering of the arms) before you rotate. ▶ this video touches on it I just don’t particularly like their cure. AMG advocates for actively lowering the arms. Elite golf schools theory (which I believe more suits your swing) is that the active movement is …

Your swing is very good. I don't see you moving off the ball too much at all. The only issue I can see is the start of your downswing is just slightly over the line, your hands just slightly out towards the ball on the way down. When this happens you have to "flip" the club to square up the face, the misses will be what you described. Here is a vid from Athletic Motion Golf on weight shift etc. Your good there. ▶ …

Need to stand a little closer and work on the overswing. Biggest factor on the pull is your hand path from the top. Your hands move straight out and force you to come over the top. Hands need to work down more and less out. â–¶ this video
