I struggle with this too. Check out this video of Grant explaining how to shallow the club: ▶ this video He does a really great job explaining the differences between a steep and shallow swing. By far the best video/lesson I’ve seen on how to shallow the club. Pay special attention to 4:30-4:50 mark.

Take away is largely outside, then over the top on the downswing. Work on shallowing the club. Only can say that cause I know firsthand! ▶ this video

Shallowing the club has more pieces to it than I’m equipped to describe. Good good labs did a nice video on it recently. You do look like your shallowing it well in this video though. ▶ this video

First of all, I kind of like your short backswing personally. I'm no expert or anything, but the main thing I see is that you seem to almost "steepen" your swing plane during the transition, rather than "shallow" it. This is a good video for you to at least understand this concept: ▶ this video When you're steep, you have to do something to square your clubface. As the video says, it's not impossible to make a good …

There’s a million ways to address this issue but what you need to understand is the difference between being “steep” and being “shallow”. Your swing is very steep and understanding why will allow you to work on it. Check out this video: ▶ this video

I thought this video had good advice. Another thing that helped me was putting an alignment stick behind my ball pointing towards the target and trying to have my backswing be straight back towards the alignment stick. ▶ this video

This video gives a pretty good description of what you need to achieve. You’re swinging like Phil in this video. ▶ this video

Very steep. Like, straight down steep. Everything needs to line up so perfect for a swing like this to work. You don’t have to have a completely shallow swing, but a video like ▶ this video can help spark some thoughts on getting at least a little more shallow and add some consistency

u/jperns2 2024 · r/GolfSwing · in “My son is frustrated with his driving distance and would like to know what he is doing wrong”

First off his wrists are a little to stiff through the swing. Waggle/loosen up before he starts his swing. Less grip pressure may also help. He stops his backswing a little short which can affect distance. He needs to create lag by starting his hip rotation on the downswing just before his hands get to the top of the swing. His biggest loss of power comes from his swing path through the ball. In the downswing his …
