My own personal demon. Here’s what worked for me (with the help of a teaching pro). I still have to work on this constantly but at least I can now play 18 without killing my lower back. 1. Strengthen left hand grip so you can see logo of glove / 2.5 knuckles. That will keep club face more closed. 2. Keep some right knee flex at the top of the backswing. By locking out your trail leg you promote too much right hip …

Watch his backswing, how it's taken up vertically. His club is pointing straight back at camera parallel to the feet, and then it's also parallel to the feet again at top of backswing. Compare to yours where club is so inside in takeaway, and it's Club is pointing left of target at top of backswing(term is laid off). U think it's minor issue, but it's going to impact your swing a lot ▶ this video

Well, watch videos and compare pro swings to yours. I always use ▶ this video video and watch my video and that one back to back. Without digging super deep I can see some obvious stuff you need to work on and you should fix that obvious stuff first just to get you in the realm of a fundamentally sound golf swing, then once you’re in the ballpark you can start trying to improve feel and results. First all your …

I just came back as well 2 months ago after 8 months injured. Very similar situation bc I saw my old swing footage and realized how flawed it was. I completely tore down and reinvented my swing and it took tons of camera work. I like to watch my swing and ▶ this video rory slow motion swing back to back and compare them. It’s helping me get rid of my early extension big time but I still had to do a ton of research. …

Trail knee. I'm like a broken record in here with this tip. Your trail knee is everything in the golf swing when it comes to contact quality. It's the key to unlocking consistency. Even with this terrible video (sorry), it's pretty clear to see that your trail knee moves toward the ball on the downswing. That pushes your hands toward the ball, which creates a whole host of swing issues—heel strikes and shanks being …

what's your miss? is it consistent? from what i see, i'd think you either hit a hook or chunk it a lot. the hook would come from your face being closed on your takeaway. ▶ this video that's what we're looking for. yours is completely closed on your takeaway. the chunk is from you staying a little bit on your right side on the downswing. this will cause you to chunk it, or if it you do it hit well you're just …

Look up slomos of any golfers you like. Here’s one of Rory’s: ▶ this video I know it’s iron vs driver but notice how much further around your body you can see your club head go compared to his? You’re overcompensating with the rotation, just need to make sure your body is doing a lot of the work on the backswing. Think about your spine staying perfectly in place and trying to rotate your shoulders and hips around …

You should make a mental note of anyone who points to what your head is doing as symptomatic of swing problems, and permanently not listen to their advice about your swing. It is casual, bad swing diagnosis. A lot of really good golfers squat into their downswing in order to better use ground forces. For instance: ▶ this video ▶ this video

C posture contributes to early extension in the form of your spine moving upright during impact and in the downswing. Yours does this slightly which causes your hips to dip rather than rotate smoothly. To solve this, play with trying to straighten your back. just take a nice easy swing about half power and don’t worry about how far it goes, just film yourself and look at the video feedback. If you want more power …

u/Passing_Neutrino 2025 · r/GolfSwing · in “I know it’s bad, but how can I make my swing more consistent?”

Yeah. You lose stability from lifting. And consistency is more important than a bit of hip turn. You can definitely make a longer backswing, may need to work on some flexibility and that will help with your hip turn. Here’s a video of Rory swinging that I look at a lot. Keep some weight on that front foot, since all of your weight is going to be pushed onto it in the down swing. ▶ this video
