I had a very bad and consistent slice like OP with a terrible over the top swing. And I tried everything suggested in the various comments and nothing really worked consistently - if anything, I became more erratic and was losing distance. What worked for me, and may not work for others, was to ignore the downswing advice. As great and correct as the advice immediately above is, it just didn't click for me for …

First look, swinging too far back on the backswing. And early extension is bad. Watch this video to stop that part. It gives you great feedback.▶ this video

Still a little early extension I think. Same issues I struggle with. Coming in a little inside out with trail arm still a bit behind because of lack of space at delivery. Moving back an inch can help but won’t solve it. I came across this video yesterday and was the best I’ve seen at explaining the feel. ▶ this video

You're pushing your right hip forward on the downswing instead of pushing your left hip back and therefore decreasing your upper body's distance to the ball. It will be hard to not hit on the heel or hosel like this without coming over the top to compensate. Recommend checking it the link below: ▶ this video

Fixing it is rarely as simple as just "not standing up" because early extension is often an adjustment the player is making unconsciously due to an over the top swing path, bad wrist positions, and other problems common to new players. …
