Your hips should be more over your heels at setup. They are way too far "back" at address. Because of this, your hips will early extend into the ball - which will cause you to stand up - which will top the ball. Edit: here are some links which helped me with my EE. ▶ this video ▶ this video

Good moves. Only two things I saw at first are at setup. 1. Your butt is a bit far out at setup. That can lead to early extension. If you can tuck your pelvis a bit more under you, you can tend to make more room in the downswing. ▶ this video 2. Changing grip at all can feel really weird so I don't think this is a deal break in anyway, but your right hand grip seems really compact and a bit too far down. If you …

▶ this video Hips hunched under you is actually good. Take a look at this video. It does a great job explaining it. It's probably the number one most common issue at setup and something that seems counterintuitive for most people. [preview.redd.it]

It looks like you’re setup way behind the ball. Checkout your posture, a lot of your issues probably reside from that. Here’s a great setup video : ▶ this video

Nice swing! There's a lot good to work with there. Pretty good rotation for a beginner and your arms move pretty well. Your arms are in great position at last parallel and through delivery. You have very good tilt and spine angle for a high handicapper. Best of all your club face is nice and square through most of the swing. Honestly, you are much closer than most to having great ball striking. There are several …

Based on your comments and some rudementary research, I totally agree with early extension beeing the main problem. I’ve got a feeling that the main cause is a poor setup, that i should have my hips more tucked in. Saw this video ▶ this video, and I think it makes sense?

Start with set up. Your hips are too far behind your feet. Check out this video: ▶ this video

Your swing in outcome of your setup. Its the only way to hit the ball from how you start. If i was to say do one thing… start more upright. Here is a starting point, there are better videos than this but its easy to find. ▶ this video 98% of other comments here are downstream from this start, and generally unactionable.

u/Dr_Niggle 2025 · r/GolfSwing · in “How to finish with my hands higher? Is this early extension?”
Yeah definitely early extending. As a starting point, I’d try to work on your setup. You are keeping your back very straight which is pushing your butt/hips back too much. Your arms look like they are reaching out a bit too when they should start perpendicular to the ground. Wherever your arms fall to without holding anything is where they should grip the club. Because of these things, your body and especially your …
