The arm swing illusion. Out of the 50 things I’ve incorporated into my swing while getting better, this changed my perspective of the golf swing the most and made the most difference. ▶ this video ▶ this video ▶ this video ▶ this video

Here's another AMG clip to help you better understand what your left arm (and right arm) should be doing to help you create real lag. What you're doing is what the amateur they are depicting does. Watch the whole thing of course, but this is key to 'cut to the chase' of what your left arm needs to be relative to your torso angle. ▶ this video

After doing a little research, and seeing many people had said I'm casting the club, or releasing early, which I am, i found this video ▶ this video It brought up your point about the club face being open on the way down, and that position is a classic position for a shank apparently. I'll doing the motorcycle drill daily haha.

You have to be careful in how you look at it. There’s a lot of illusory stuff that happens at that point because of how the clavicles move relative to the sternum, and the arms rotating up in the shoulder socket looks like a closing angle between the arm and the chest that isn’t. There’s a pretty good discussion of it here: ▶ this video And here: ▶ this video I’ll try to find a few pro examples with names attached …

If a 240+ yard slight push is a repeatable result, then that's quite serviceable for most amateurs. A slight push means a slight in-to-out path and a clubface that is slightly open at impact. Neither are a bad thing as long as it is repeatable. However, the way you get there looks like there are some power leaks. You look "crunched together" in the downswing because it looks like your body is "in the way" of your …

I would typically measure this at shaft parallel on the downswing, because your angle at the top isn't indicative of overall lag potential. Many golfers narrow this angle (add lag) early on the downswing. ▶ this video

You are casting from the top bruv...aka unloading your wrist angles as soon as the downswing starts. If you watch pros (AMG youtube channel also has a video on this) the angle between the club shaft and their lead arm actually decreases when the downswing starts, you are doing the opposite, which is leading to: casting, the over the top path, increased dynamic loft, loss of compression, and my guess is plenty of …

A little bit late here, but just wanted to throw something in. You are doing a ton correctly here. The reason that your hands look to far behind your trail thigh at P6 (which everyone has screenshotted) is because your arms are getting pulled across your chest too far. You might be fully aware that the hands need to stay in front of your chest and not realize they are getting too far back, but a way to tell is that …

I think that’s true at impact See: ▶ this video But in the transition the arms have to get down really quickly like this guy is doing. It’s more the stall in hip turn at the bottom of the downswing that is confusing me. Otherwise the swing looks excellent

Ah I see. I don't know about this specific issue but what I can tell you is that the wrists don't necessarily have to hinge all that much. So if this carpal tunnel thing pops up especially when you activate your wrists, then you're probably on some wrong tracks. Often coming from a wrong understanding of the "lag" concept as some sort of angle that has to be created and hold semi-consciously. But the actual wrist …
