This video helped me the most ▶ this video What I tell myself is: Open your body more when you’re swinging and change the follow through swing plane to inside than out.

▶ this video If you can do this you can shallow the club and never be over the top again. It’s not hard, people just have the wrong intention and the face is open. If you try to get your hands forward you’ll be over the top. If the face is open you’ll also be over the top. Over the top is just shifting your swing direction across the ball enough to force the path and face to be serviceable. Really easy to be …

So people learn different ways. You could get better with bad advice if it gets your feel in the swing better. If this helps you think about the swing and gets you in better positions then great. But I think that's a bad way to think about it. These images are focusing on how it looks from a front facing camera instead of from the golfer's perspective. There are videos on "the arm swing illusion" or this is a good …

Basically you’re using your arms too much in your downswing. When you swipe your arms and also turn your body, you end up coming over the top and then your followthrough makes you collapse your left elbow. Instead, try to just keep your arms in place and use your body to turn / swing. Your arms are just along for the ride. This video shows the illusion that I’m talking about. ▶ this video Check out this guy: …

Practice setting up and getting into the impact position without swinging to see how it feels to have the hands ahead with some shaft lean while bringing your hip out like in the photo above. That should give you an idea of where you want to be. It’s much easier to get to the hands ahead, shaft lean position by turning the body rather than sweeeping the hands thru. ▶ this video

1. You are pulling your arms across your body near and through impact. This is not how the golf swing works. The downswing goes from the top to the trail hip where it stops and the body rotates to take the club to the ball. This is why you are chicken winging and may be causing the early extension. The fact that he’s telling you to use all arms is even weirder considering that your under use of your body rotation is putting you in a really compromised release position. Your arms should stay on the trail side of your body until well after impact. Not wipe across your body like yours are doing. It’s the body rotation that brings them through to release. ▶ this video
