Your first move down needs to be shifting into your lead side/foot. Feel like the club is still gathering at the top as you do this. As you start to turn your butt/hips need to stay back (your’s thrust forward). As you move down feel as though your butt moves back, if you’ve ever seen Tiger do his goofy exaggerated squat drill this is what he’s correcting for. Everyone talks constantly about shallowing, but …

▶ this video Work on this feel. You have to rotate hard to get your left side out of the way if you want your hands to exit low and left

▶ this video This one might help explain it better, that “coming across” is what early extension is. ▶ this video This is the tiger drill. He is attempting to create the downward (squat) motion rather than turning over. The way I visualize it, it’s like a baseball hitter going opposite field (or fade flight). You want to feel more like your pushing your hands and body to the right rather than left.

My pro gave me this clip as an example of trying to exaggerate the feeling of your hips moving back at impact. Obviously you won’t actually move this much during a swing, but learning the feel will help keep the hips from traveling forward. ▶ this video

It's one of the most common issues with us amateurs. Tons of materials on YouTube. What works for me is to have the feeling of pulling the left butt cheek back. Almost feeling like a squatting move to initiate the weight shift and turn. Use your lead leg to help you turn then hip, not pushing straight up that cause your mid to straighten out. ▶ this video
