I really like this video because it identifies a physical issue that might cause someone to come over the top. Your buddy probably doesn't have that though since he looks very flexible. Either way, one of these will help but preferably use the second way because added hand depth (which he needs) can also be problematic. ▶ this video

Well then it just isn’t as obvious to me. There isn’t a major plane change or right shoulder movement was my point. The club face is cutting across the all because the swing is all arms. It’s an out to in path for sure, but to me it isn’t that much over the top. ▶ this video. Anyway OP, there’s a good link. It shows a very emphasized OTT motion, but more importantly talks about hip rotation and separation of the …

[preview.redd.it] You’re sitting quite nicely in the middle of the over-the-top / early extension Venn diagram here. At the risk of adding more YouTube to your brain this is a really good explainer: ▶ this video Setup is also important: Are you using a baseball grip? Hands look very separated Shoulders are very open to your target promoting an OTT swing path little bit too much knee bend for my liking, little too on …

Try pausing your swing at the top. Hideki style. Rushing your upper body leads to your shoulders being steep. ▶ this video Or check your hip bend ▶ this video Or try to incorporate a left hip bump. ▶ this video si=GdCmdA4XI91TWKgq Or try figure 8 drill ▶ this video

Your take away goes inside pretty quickly which tends to lead to over the top or an outside downswing. Your swing looks pretty good so I don’t want to suggest anything drastic. Place a ball behind your club and try rolling it straight back. You would roll the ball back left currently. ▶ this video Quick simple vid on over the top swings

Your’e really steep in your downswing, my guess is that’s your 1 issue and probably the same for most golfers. Lots of drills on YT for this, here’s one: ▶ this video

Very slightly coming over the top. Good swing overall - club face is on the right angle during the back swing. ▶ this video

Go to the top of your backswing and draw a line from your hands to the ball. Now if you take your hands and move them slightly above the line you can draw an arc down to the ball. The only way to make a natural arc to the ball is to swing out to in. Now do the same backswing but this time on the downswing, lower your hands slightly below that original line and draw an arc to the ball. The arc should be more in to …

Over the top, to me at least, means you rotate above the plane at the top of the backswing. ▶ this video Did the ball go where you intended it to go? It looks like you are set up for it to go more right, then you adjust the plane starting at the top of the backswing and shoot it more left.
