It's a lot easier if you don't actually think about the hips, but think about how your pushing with your feet. It's not really a flexibility thing unless you have extreme mobility limitations. This will help : ▶ this video ▶ this video I watched a lot of vids and these two shorts unlocked the concept for me better than all of them combined and in 1/2000 the time lol.

You're rotating your hips but you're not really using them for your swing. Let me try to explain it to you as I just had my mind blown last week when I finally understood what it means to use your hips in the golf swing. This took me months to get a grasp of so I'll try to save you the time. The hips opening and rotating is a reaction to the ground forces you're interacting with your feet. You already know how to do …

I think this is another industry teaching failure. You don't actively try to "rotate" the hips around your spine to be open at impact as a cause for rotation. Doing that leads to early extension, spinning out, over the top swings, and a lot of pressure on your lower back, etc. The hip get open because of the pressure from your legs trying to keep the pelvis away from the ball. Both legs work differently and that …

Well your camera angle is going to make you look steep. The camera is pointing right and is more behind your body vs pointing parallel to down the line and between your feet and the ball. Number two, you need to give the club downward momentum in transition. Right now your brain is like, what's the shortest path to the ball? Well, it's a steep path from the top. But if you give the club head downward momentum behind …

If I had to guess, it sounds like you are hiking the club upright about the shoulders, because that feels comfortable and gets the club to the ball for you. I would look at Sir Nick Faldo ▶ this video and Giles Gill ▶ this video to find a new flatter torque power zone. For hip fundamentals, watch Paddy on the ▶ this video and for some of the counter force loading action that gets involved, watch ▶ this video

I don’t always like this guys videos, but this is a useful cue. ▶ this video I’d say that thought of pushing the feet against the ground, and just slowing down the transition from backswing to swing should do it for you. You don’t really need to be that mobile, and it’s not really important to actually follow through with the hips. You can strike the ball well without a lot of hip rotation.
