Some form of towel drill will genuinely help with this issue. Stick with it and all of a sudden you will be hitting draws with a snaphook/pull as a miss. That was the case for me and my score started improving. It feels wrong at first but it helped me a ton. Example ▶ this video

I'm a 40 year golfer and recently decided to do something about my overswing, and I found the towel drill to be the thing I needed. The refresher on keeping my arms connected better has taken my consistency to the next level. ▶ this video

First off, your swing looks pretty good. You have good form and fundamentals. [preview.redd.it] If you look here you have a lot of space under your arm. Flaring your arm out like this causes a lot of inconsistent swings. ▶ this video This video is an easy drill you can do to practice getting that arm down. A folded towel or something like that under your arm shouldnt fall out when you swing.

Yup, very much so. It looks to me like your arms are getting too far away from your body in the downswing; try to keep them (or at the very least, your trailing arm) tucked close to your body as you move through the swing. One thing that might help is the towel drill, where you basically just keep a towel under your armpit(s) and take a few swings, making sure that you keep the towel clenched between your arm and …

Second this. You can also tuck a towel under both arms and keep it pinched. It will help keep you connected, on plane, and exiting the swing in the right place. I do both of these drills for five shots every time I warm up -- both for practice and play. ▶ this video ▶ this video

Humping the ball always comes with early extension which is where the hook is coming from. This is a REALLY good lesson that Pete Cowen gave Danny Maude. ▶ this video I think something else you can do, is the towel in the armpits drill. This drill forces you to rotate your body through impact to get good strikes which goes in hand with Pete Cowen’s lesson. ▶ this video

If you want to try and flatten your swing out (and help prevent big slices) grab like a head cover or towel. Tuck it in your right armpit and do not let it fall out during your swing. It will feel pretty weird I bet, but is a good drill you can try that will help you out. Here is a short video that covers it well. ▶ this video

I suggest the following: 1. Step Drill: ▶ this video 2. Towel Drill: ▶ this video 3. A divot mat to find and control your low point for each club. ($30). This item really helped me with training to get flush contact with woods and compressing my irons. I hit my 3/5 wood well now because of this. 4. Max Fli weight club and grip trainer. ($40) This item got me more club speed which got me more ball speed and over all …

On your back swing, try to keep your right elbow tucked-in / connected to your side.. there's a good drill where you hold a towel under your armpits and swing normally... this guy shows it at the 0:46 second mark Hope this helps! ▶ this video

I was an over the top swinger, but I'm more or less neutral now and if I need to, I can (sometimes) hit a draw. It took me 5 months of biweekly lessons with a coach to get it down, and take pressure off my back (thanks to a car accident which broke a vertebrae). If you have back problems, your current swing can exacerbate them. I still sometimes have off days where I come over the top and I immediately know it …

Your hands, after they reach the apex of the backswing, need to fall straight down below or tag the shoulder first, instead of moving them directly toward the ball. ▶ this video This drill helps with proper backswing, arm position, and swing path.
