I don’t agree that it’s a face issue, at least not primarily. If you freeze at impact you’ll see that the club head has traveled so far out that no amount of face closure would save it. My best guess is this is a sequence issue. Notice how your hips and shoulders are turning pretty much at the fact same time and you are “hitting” at the ball.
