▶ this video I think you’re both wrong and your both right. Pros move off the ball the absolute slightest, but no one would recommend that to an amateur trying to learn how to hone in his move. If you look at Tiger, yes the first move is technically laterally back but it’s extremely subtle, like an inch.

A lot of the release is a hip and trunk turn. He's not "throwing" his hands from this position. ▶ this video His wrists release, but he doesn't throw the clubhead through the ball. But his hip opening rate is insane- a lot of that turn is the core of his body.

Your head is gonna move. You keep a very still head in the backswing. It will move on the downswing. I’d say your left leg straightened causing a dip in spine angle. Think of the leg being a rigid bent post that you’re driving into the ground on the backswing. Loading the weight onto that side. Look at this vid ▶ this video see some head movements but his spine angle never changed. His base never changes height.
