Two things- ball striking was my biggest problem and I’ve drastically improved that in the last couple months. First off, wrist hinge is overrated. All of a sudden, I stopped hitting it fat after finding this drill and making sure I rotate through the downswing rather than getting too handsy: ▶ this video Secondly, I’ve been actively trying to feel like I’m only swinging 3/4- because I tried to kill it on every …

A lot of people like holding a bag towel against the body with the elbow as a drill. Here is an idea about the takeaway that I found really helpful. ▶ this video

I wouldn't recommend that practice take away you are doing. It's all fore arm rotation, very little tempo. Watch some replays of PGA players doing their routines before a tee shot. Watch how they move their arms/shoulders/hips/feet and how they focus on everything going back and through together with solid tempo. The move you practice before your shot looks like a super disconnected take away. skip to 2:10 on this …

Sure. If this was a lesson, I’d fix your setup and takeaway. Your takeaway is inside because you’re rotating your wrists/shoulders too early. ▶ this video That’s a video on takeaway from Danny Maude. Watch his stuff. Love that guy.

Seems to me you are bending your right wrist too soon. Instead of swinging the club back you are picking it up, which results in a looping, inside out swing. Well, outside in on the backswing, then inside out on the foreswing. Here’s a video explains what I mean and how to correct it: ▶ this video (Note that in the video he describes a problematic swing that’s the opposite of yours, but the fix is the same — work on …

For someone new to the game you’re doing a lot of things right. But I think most of your issues, and for most new golfers, come from initial address/club grip and then take away. If those are messed up it just compounds everything after that. And both of yours are a little wonky. The two videos I attached are two of the best I’ve seen. And then two drills I’ve gotten from past lessons are the towel drill I saw …

One explanation that somehow clicked with me was to imagine you are Iron Man with that power source shooting a beam of light right out of the center of your chest. In your take-away (backswing), you need to turn your chest to make that beam of light point behind you. Use your hips, that's what they are there for. One last thing is that you seem to be using your wrists way too early. The club head should be staying …

Stay connected on your take away. The first movement for your back swing you should really feel that only being controlled by your left hand. Here is a great vid to explain this: ▶ this video - this is all about staying connected to your body (arms, shoulders and hips/legs). Narrow your stance. Uncoil your body’s spring for your actual swing and finish with your weight in your putter left part of your left foot.
