Agreed. Just to add to this answer, I believe ▶ this video shows both why OP achieves better contact while feeling like he’s hitting punch shots, as well as demonstrating what you’re describing. Obviously OP wants to make sure his grip and setup are sound too so that he can get into the correct positions consistently.
