One thing that's helping me at the moment is to take the club away at the start of your backswing with just my shoulders and keeping my arms in front of my body. Looks like it might help you too. ▶ this video

Rolling wrists on takeaway. I had the same issue. Creates many compensation moves to get clubface back to square. This video covers it ▶ this video

The steepness isn't due to being relaxed or your grip, necessarily. The steepness is due to the angles involved in your backswing. Check out this video about the backswing, it's a good one! ▶ this video

you're brain thinks that the golf swing is a straight line back and forward. (hence the jamming of the lead arm/elbow through impact) It is not. It is on an arc with your body as the center point. If you want to improve, you need to spend time trying to get your brain to comprehend how the club works around your body. (not an easy thing to do) Here's a recent video I watched that I think could help you. I would …

people like to do a drill where you place a ball about 6 inches behind your ball. on your takeaway you should try to roll the 2nd ball straight backwards. this guy Danny Maude has some really good videos on it with drills as well. ▶ this video

▶ this video I like several of Danny Maude’s tips. Most of them are pretty simple.

Ok you said you tried something new, is this your usual swing? I'm going to assume that it is. Everyone is talking about the OTT but no one is really talking about the root cause which is actually your backswing. In your takeaway you're rolling your wrists, which is separating your arms from your body (called a disconnected takeaway). Once you reach the top of your swing, you can see that your wrist is cupped and …

I'm gonna guess you are trying to use your hips a bit to much. At the top of the back swing you should be pulling down with your arms and the hips follow. Do you top the ball a lot? People that swing "down" instead of "around" tend to pull the club in at the last second so that you are trying to square up the club face at impact. When instead, if you were to imagine a slow mo shot, the club is not perpendicular with …
