Want you to look up another few if you don’t mind. Jim Waldron, swing illusion. Watch it and believe it. They are old videos of an old guy explaining the illusion. What you think you are seeing is not what you are seeing. What you think you see if the lead arm, your left, coming across their body. Meaning, independent of any body rotation, you think that arms sweeps to the right, pulling it across and tight to your …

Both arms are straight at start. Lead arm should stay straight through top of back swing with the trail arm bent but kept in close(think a waiter holding a tray) and then both should be straight once again at impact. Through impact your momentum should then keep the trail arm straight while the lead arm bends. Keep your head still and your shoulders should rotate as if youre in a barrel. ▶ this video Here is Rory. …

There is absolutely no way in the top photo that you’re swinging anything but over the top and out to in. Chances are you were only timing things just right so your club face was open to this out-in path, sending your ball straight, and most likely with a fade/slice. In the bottom photo you’re just managing to get the clubface closed early and through impact, possibly with the same out-in path, hard to say as I …

Damn, had to scroll a long way to see this. Can nobody see what this dude’s head is doing? It looks like a malfunctioning elevator! Head drops 3-4 inches, then goes up slightly, then down and up again, and that’s all before contact… yikes. Check out any pro head-on swings on YouTube (▶ this video) and you’ll see the head is very stable. That up/down motion must be murder on consistency.

I’m just using Rory because his video came up first. You will never see a scratch, +HC or Pro with hips flat at impact. They use their bodies to create power, not their arms. They set the club at the top and rotate with very little use of their hands for timing. ▶ this video Look at his hips when he makes contact. They’re almost all the way open.

This is an issue you might need a lesson to fully address, and I'm no swing instructor or anything, but I feel like you've got one glaring issue (and maybe some smaller ones) that no one else has mentioned which is a bit head scratching to me. We're going to compare you to Rory's iron swing here (sorry we all look bad compared to him but I think this will illustrate the point well): ▶ this video We're going to focus …

I think you should start by working on "weight" transfer ▶ this video Notice how Mcilroy has moved to his lead side before the top of his backswing. You look like you start your transfer at the same time as you start your downswing, and realistically your transfer is continuing some way into your downswing. If you rotate your hips without the transfer they will 'spin out'. (Obviously you have to take a dose of …

In addition to what people have mentioned about hinging your wrists a bit early, I'd say that your weight transfer could do some work. At about 3/4 of your backswing you should start transferring almost all of your weight to your front foot. This in turn will help keep your head more still and stop you lifting up a bit at the top of your swing. You'll notice on video that when you're at the top of your swing you'll …

In this rory is doing exactly what you're telling me is bad 'sliding' unless I've misunderstood. ▶ this video My left foot could stay more planted though. But thanks for the rest of the feedback. The wrist hinge and grip need attention to work on the thin contact.
